The principle of transparency, in terms of “total accessibility” to information regarding the organization and activity of the public administration was affirmed by legislative decree 14 March, 2013, n.33. The objective of the norm is to facilitate citizens’ common control of institutions’ operations and of the use of public resources.
In particular, the publication of data held by public administrations is intended to encourage citizen participation for the following purposes:
ensure knowledge of the services rendered, quantitative and qualitative characteristics, and the manner in which they are provided;
prevent corruption and promote integrity;
submit each stage of the performance management cycle to widespread control to enable its improvement.
The personal data published in this section are reusable only under the conditions provided for by current legislation on the reuse of public data (EU Directive 2003/98/EC and Legislative Decree 36/2006 transposing the same), in terms compatible with the purposes for which they were collected and recorded, and in compliance with the legislation on the protection of personal data
